This was a BLAST! 🥵🔥

Here's an on-stage shot of our performance of "Master of Puppets" by Metallica at the Northlakes High School Talent Show the other day. Not bad for one quick rehearsal AND a last minute lineup change.

One of our wonderful students Matilda just came first in Year 7 music for 2025... like we couldn't see that coming 🤭 she's an extremely hard worker and super talented! Well done Matilda we are proud of you! ❤️

Riffpad Academy of Music are hosting our second JAM NIGHT at Inflatable World Charmhaven / Charmy Indoor Sports on the 1st November!!!

Open to everyone - come and have a jam with with your friends or the teachers at Riffpad, jump on the inflatables, eat some food and listen to some awesome local musicians doing their thing. Karaoke style setup - choose a song to jam to or get up as a band, we don't mind!

Back in July we had our 90s/2000s themed Workshop Week. One of the last workshops for the week was "DIY 90's Music Videos" where two small groups of students got to get hands on with cameras, lights, and using the space around them to create their own "90s style cover video" 🎸🥁

Only having ONE hour per group to do all of the following was no easy feat for them... but they smashed it!

☑️ Watch highlights of 90s music videos
☑️ Discuss the techniques that might have been involved
☑️ Choose a video style they want to try and replicate
☑️ Choose a song to cover (even if they didn't know how to play it, they had to act it 😅)
☑️ Plan the video / shots
☑️ Shoot the video
☑️ Revisit the footage and discuss if they want to do any retakes before finishing up

Group 1 song is "Heart Shaped Box" by Nirvana
Group 2 song is "Until Eternity" by Blackbriar
