A hands-on celebration of the makers, shapers, and creators who keep the old skills alive and the sparks flying.
🔥 Craft. Skill. Spectacle.
Across the village, the air hums with the rhythm of old skills sparking back to life. A chainsaw growls through solid timber as Australia’s leading sculptor shapes a life-size Maremma from a single tree, raw wood giving way to a guardian reborn.
The blacksmith’s forge roars nearby, iron hissing as hammer meets anvil in a shower of sparks. Coopers shape their barrels with a precision that’s been handed down for centuries. A wheelwright shapes timber into strong cart wheels, the kind that once kept farms, wagons and trade moving.
Stone Wallers stack and shape with a patience only the trade can teach, while hand shearers show the pure, practiced skill that kept farms alive. Every clang, cut and strike carries the spirit of the makers who built a nation with their hands.
Marvel at the precision of a scoreboard maker, the delicate craft of wooden spoon carvers, potters, wood turners, and a signwriter working their magic in real time.
The Warrnambool Garrison fire up their eighty-pound cannon, uniforms sharp, powder dry, as the hillside rings with history.
