It looks like the older we get, the more we are likely to partake in an alcoholic drink or two.
A new study from Flinders University shows the Silent Generation and Baby Boomers on average consume 5-6 standard drinks a week.
Generation X and Millennials go at 3-4 drinks a week, while Generation Z are down at 1-2.
But the Generation Xers, Millennials and Zers drink more per sitting, at 3-4, while the Silents and Boomers have 1-2.

(Generation birth guide: Silent - 1928 to 1945, Baby Boomers 1946 to 1965, Generation X 1965 to 1980, Millennials 1981 to 1996, Generation Z 1997 to 2010).

The Warrnambool & District Football Netball League will have new junior grade age brackets for 2026.
The under 13s will now be under-13.5, while the under 15s change to under 16s.
The league's under 18 competition will now be under 18.5s.
An under 11 competition will be introduced, which will be played on Friday nights.

Warrnambool City Council mayor Ben Blain is happy how the city is tracking, but knows federal and state funding is needed going forward.
That might be easier said than done in these post-COVID times, where money is tight.

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has announced a celebration to mark the opening of five new train stations in Melbourne.
From early December, Victorians will have free weekend travel on public transport anywhere in the state.
This will last until February 1.
Regional services will continue to require a reservation, at zero cost, to manage seating capacity.

Powercor confirms there was an issue with the insulation that occurred on the line just near the zone substation located on Jamieson St, Warrnambool.

17,000 customers were initially affected by the power outage.

Powercor Spokesperson thanks customers for their patience while the power was out.

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE
Power Cor crews have made great progress in identifying and addressing the issue, finding a fault on an isolator near the Warrnambool zone substation.

Thanks to their efforts, more than 15,000 customers now have power restored, with the remaining customers expected to be back online shortly.

“We appreciate customers patience and understanding as we work diligently to safely and quickly restore power to all.” Says Power Cor Spokesperson.

BREAKING NEWS POWER OUTAGE
Powercor is responding to a fault at the Warrnambool zone substation.
17,000 customers impacted.

The fault occurred around 10.40am and restoration Is due at 2:00pm.

Areas affected include Warrnambool, Dennington, Allansford, Bushfield, Purnim, Nullawarre, Cudgee, Wangoom, Naringal, Mepunga West, Panmure, Woodford, Nirranda, Nirranda South.

Powercor is currently investigating the cause
