Weekend windback to a little over three years ago when Waubra's Springs Hotel finally reopened its doors and welcomed the community back inside! 🍺

After a stretch sitting quiet, the old pub came back to life again – locals gathering around the bar, meals coming out of the kitchen, and that familiar buzz returned! ☺️

The Pyrenees Advocate captured the moment at the time, and looking back now it’s a great reminder of just how much a country pub means to a small town! 🙌🏻

Back in February 2024, the Waubra Country Women’s Association quietly did what it does best – looking after their community! 🚒

After long, demanding days on the fireground, local CFA volunteers returned to the Waubra Fire Station to find hot, home-cooked meals prepared by the Waubra CWA, ensuring crews were fed, rested and supported when it mattered most! 😋

The gesture was simple but powerful, and a reminder that behind every fire response are locals – often women – providing the practical support that keeps volunteers going! 🙏🏻

Waubra’s got itself a brand-new playground – and it didn’t just fall out of the sky. A trio of determined local mums pushed, prodded and fought until the idea became reality, proving once again that nothing gets done faster than when parents are sick of saying “don’t climb that, it’s not safe.”
