2027 A GRADE COACH LOCKED IN 🤝

BARRY PILMORE IS BACK HOME AT THE SHOE IN 2027

As we prepare to bring A Grade football back to Noarlunga in our 130th year, we knew the person leading the way needed to understand exactly what this club, this guernsey and this opportunity means.

We couldn’t think of a better person to have at the helm than Barry Pilmore.

Barry’s football resume speaks for itself.
A 320-game Noarlunga player, three-time premiership player and premiership coach, Barry has been part of some incredible chapters in our club’s history.
And his success extends well beyond The Shoe.

🏆 6 consecutive A Grade premierships as coach of Willunga
🏆 9 Grand Final appearances in 12 seasons, making finals every year
🏆 Multiple GSFL Coach of the Year awards
🏆 SA Country Coach
🏆 SA Country Championships winning coach with Southern Districts and named Coach of the Championships
🏆 Southern Football League Hall of Fame inductee
🏆 Noarlunga Football Club Hall of Fame
🏆 Willunga Football Club Hall of Fame
🏆 A football legacy so significant that the annual SFL v GSFL senior clash is played for the Barry Pilmore Cup

But for us, perhaps the most important part of Barry’s story is where so much of it began at home with the Noarlunga Football Club.

2027 isn't simply about putting an A Grade side back on the track.

It's about rebuilding something that lasts.
Restoring pride in the guernsey. Bringing people home. Giving our young players something to aspire to and beginning the next chapter of a club that has stood for 130 years.

And we couldn't think of a better person to lead it. Welcome home, Barry. 👏👏

For the 2 years I have been an elected member we have talked about cat containment. Just this month it was back on our council agenda.

Without state lead direction, some other SA councils have brought in their own rules (24/7 containment, night curfews, or rules just for newer cats), but Onkaparinga hasn’t gone that way yet.

Living close to Tangari, hearing the deputation from Farm Animal Rescue Centre and now the concerns around the H5N1 virus. How do we best protect our wildlife and our very loved pets?

Should cats be kept on their own property all the time?
Is a night-time curfew enough?
Or are you happy with things as they are?

Would love to hear your thoughts, whether you’re a cat owner, a wildlife lover, or just someone who’s noticed what’s happening in the neighbourhood.
