I yesterday finished writing BIRDS OF THE LIVING DEAD, Bk. 11 in The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld series. I'm now going through it, looking for any typos, word changes and any additions before sending it off for pro editing. I have to say, without wishing to toot my own horn too much, but I think this could very well be my best work. There are portions of the book, as I go through it, that could well be the best writing I've done. Just little bits and pieces that stand out to me, but it's often those little things that stand out to others as well and really make a book come alive for readers. I hope so anyway.

I'm planning to release BIRDS OF THE LIVING DEAD in October/November this year, so keep an eye out for it and for further updates as we near that time. Of course, we have Bk. 9 KINGDOM and Bk. 10 CITY OF FEAR due to be released before then, in July/August. If you're a Wraith fan, there's a lot to look forward to. Thank you.

SWAMP WITCH OF SATAN'S FOREST, Book 6 in The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld series, was released in January, Book 8, LADY WRAITH is about to release in the next couple weeks, Book 9, KINGDOM is scheduled for release in July and Book 10, CITY OF FEAR will follow shortly thereafter. Four books released in the same year. If I'm lucky, and everything comes together well, I may also be able to release Book 11, BIRDS OF THE LIVING DEAD before the year is out. We'll see if I can pull that one off.

Also in the planning stages (likely to be released next year, I'd say) is Book 3 in the Books of Judgment sub-series of The Wraith books, RISING SON. This is a series of prequels detailing the origins of a variety of important characters in the series. Book 1, SANDERSON OF METRO, detailed the origin of the original Wraith/Paul Sanderson, Book 2, SERPENT RISING featured the origin of his nemesis, the Cobra and Book 3, RISING SON will feature the origin of another enemy, crime lord Robert Latham. Look for Book 3 sometime in 2026, hopefully during the first quarter or so.

Writing work continues apace on the latest Wraith novel, CITY OF FEAR, with chapter 5 commencing and almost 10,000 words in. Coming along well for far, very pleased with my progress.

In other Wraith novel news, the pro editing of LADY WRAITH is now almost complete, upon which I will then go through it one last time, make the requisite corrections, additions etc., then on to formatting it before publication and release. I look forward to presenting this to you all. It's a tougher, harsher, more adult book in the series, dealing with real life issues. I think it turned out well, and I hope you all feel likewise. I'll update again once it's released and ready to purchase. Thank you.

How do I feel about today's "bombshell" James Bond news? Remarkably sanguine. Honestly, I expected this. Producer Michael G. Wilson is old, been working on the films since at least 1969. Unofficially, he'd been relegated to junior partner on the series for years, as the large dip in quality has indicated. Barbara Broccoli lacks the innate producing nous of her father and the producing/writing talents of her brother. He's retiring so she has to go. Also, her recent comments re: the studio wouldn't have helped matters any, and showed poor judgement on her part (NTTD should have been enough proof of that).

The reality is...the Bond films have been on a creative slide for years. Decades, really. The only truly good Daniel Craig Bond film is Casino Royale. Every subsequent film just regurgitated the same plot points. Only two of his Bond films were considered great successes, the other three performed middling to poorly at the BO (comparatively speaking). Craig dressed poorly in most of his films. Mostly, they were a hot mess.

Will things improve with Amazon MGM now in full control? Maybe, maybe not. But they were never going to improve under Wilson/Broccoli. The past twenty years proves this. The gigantic blunder that is NTTD proves this. So, I have hope. One must have hope.

Been working on this, the cover to Book 10 in The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld series, CITY OF FEAR. I'll begin to plot this book in the next day or so, and once a rough overall plotline has been determined, I'll begin actually writing the book itself. Looking forward to this.

In the meantime, Book 6, SWAMP WITCH OF SATAN'S FOREST, was recently released and Book 8, LADY WRAITH, is due for release next month. I just finished writing Book 9, KINGDOM, with the intention of releasing that around July this year. I wonder if I can finish CITY OF FEAR and release it this year as well? That would be four Wraith novels released in 2025, a new record. We'll see. I'll certainly try.

Now that my daughter has started school, I can finally get back to work on my writing/publishing endeavours on my non-day job days. As such, I was able to finish Book 9 in The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld series, KINGDOM (now off to my pro editor) and I worked on the covers for Book 8 LADY WRAITH as well as KINGDOM.
