AMPED UP TIPS FOR DJS USB FORMATTING 101

Imagine this: you’re about to play the dancefloor’s ready You plug in your USB and BOOM
“Drive Not Recognised”.
No tracks. No vibe. Total DJ panic mode

Here’s the fix: format matters.

Some DJ gear only reads FAT32 (especially older CDJs and controllers).
Others, especially newer computers and DJ software, prefer exFAT.
And some gear won’t read exFAT at all.

My advice?

Always carry two USBs:
   •   One formatted in FAT32
   •   One formatted in exFAT and take your laptop

That way, you’re covered no matter what setup you’re walking into club, pub, festival, or backyard party.

BONUS: FAT32 can’t store files over 4GB so keep your track files tidy and under that limit.

Always double check your formatting before a gig.

Mount Kembla Village Hotel (MKVH)

We’re getting together for one last big night before the end of the year and everyone’s invited.

Dinner from 5:30pm
The MKVH kitchen will be open as normal. Come up early, grab a feed, have a drink, and settle in.

Party kicks off at 7pm
I’ll be playing a huge mix of 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s all the feel good classics, reworked and refreshed. I’ll also be featuring some Classic Revibes by Dario Caminita, along with plenty of other favourites.

Open to all.
Come for the food, come for the music, or just come to hang out and have a great night with good people. I’d honestly love to see as many of you there as possible.

Let’s finish the year on a high and make this a proper MKVH party.

I have experience in DJing a wide variety of events; corporate, charity, weddings, schools, parties… even a float in the Sydney Mardi Gras! I spend significant time preparing prior to an event, compiling tracks best suited for the event/client. I have thousands of tracks, plus the most up-to-date music (paid for and downloaded from a legal DJ pool for best sound reproduction). If required, I can provide PDF lists of music (from 40’s and 50’s through to present) for clients to select their favourite or ‘must have’ tracks.

As a professional DJ, I have full public liability insurance and my equipment is ‘tested and tagged’ (a WHS requirement for most venues). My equipment is up-to-date, extremely high quality and the overall set-up looks very professional. I offer an extensive selection of lights/lasers for an amazing light show, as well as a smoke machine, microphones and other essentials. My equipment and fixtures can be adjusted to cater for any size venue, big or small.
