Office spaces take many shapes, forms and environments, today we’re sitting in the back 2 rows of the auditorium for the next 2 days for Web Directions UX Australia event.

Originally I was going to setup off to the side closer to the AV desk but we were able to solve audio and slide feeds from the desk so that I could be setup in a much more attractive camera framing position for their online viewers.

I used 2 bar tables across the 2 rows for my equipment, slide deck converted thru multiple SDI to HDMI converters to mange the 20m distance between me and the AV desk. And a 30m XLR cable to sync audio directly into camera so no audio lag issues at the point of capture.

We setup wireless Comms so I could talk to the venue’s AV team on demand as well!

Office for the next 3 days live streaming conferences for Web Directions UX Australia events,

In room audio was patchy at the start of the event so we switched quickly and seamlessly to our own lapels and sound desk which I already had setup just as a backup in case I needed to bring in more inputs myself during the stream. Now I’m setting up battery charging cables for all my 4 lapel sets!

Live streaming is a relatively simple concept but the troubleshooting when something breaks during the stream comes with many years of experience streaming across different setups and events and ability to provide backups for your backups!

A good day out filming some interesting research work for University of Sydney looking at inclusive playgrounds for vision impaired children. I was tasked with capturing and documenting the kids playing in and around the various areas using a mixture of stationary wide angle cameras, go pros and even a 360 camera I attached to various points to capture interactions in tight spaces.

It was great to be out flying again, my drone has been in hibernation since the start of the pandemic so it was great to see it back up in the skies! Can’t believe I’ve had it for 11 years already!

Achievement unlocked! Filmed 2 wedding ceremonies on the SAME day. The first at 9am in Sydney solo filming on my own with 3 cameras and then drove down to Kiama for the 2.30pm ceremony which I was live streaming.
