That moment right after the ceremony when everyone is buzzing and excited to hug you and say congrats. I know I've said it before, but there’s something so special about those raw genuine reactions. It's all happy tears, big smiles, and that huge wave of "we actually did it!"

Hanging out with Michael on his wedding day, cruising around the city, walking the streets, I quickly realised he’s a man of many talents and just a straight-up cool cat.

And then there’s Bec: insanely talented and totally adorable as well. During the speeches, she dropped a little story that had everyone all ears.

She shared how her epic fibre-optic wedding dress came to be. After finishing her computer science degree, she created the first version, Light-Up Dress 1.0. Fast forward to now, and we’ve got version 2.0: programmed, wifi-controlled and absolutely so Bec.

I wanted to celebrate Dane and Leah’s wedding day by capturing their celebration, of course, but there’s always room to get a little creative and experiment with moments—or even simple elements like colour. I wanted to expand on the vibrant reds and pinks they chose for their celebration while also playing with light to bring it all together.

It’s something I ask myself sometimes—how far can I push an edit beyond what’s traditionally considered a wedding film in 2025 while still keeping it authentic? Can it be a little more dramatic or stylised? I’ve only just started editing the hundreds of gigabytes of footage and barely scratched the surface, but it's fun to try and imagine a concept of what it could look and feel like.

I adore shooting with Kodak film; it just hits differently. It kind of reminds me of flipping through an old family photo album, like watching a warm memory unfold. The grain and vibrant colours feel so wholesome to me.

It's so damn special to see my couples watching their film for the first time. Seeing their emotions as they relive these moments that are now just a memory is a reminder of why I do what I do.
