🏃 Wonthaggi is preparing to run (or walk) to raise money for seriously ill children and their families.

Hundreds of people are expected at Apex Park on Sunday, October 4, for the inaugural Voyage Fitness Wonthaggi Run for Very Special Kids, with a range of distances available for everyone.

Among those taking part is Wonthaggi’s Shontelle O’Connor, who will attempt her first half-marathon.

The money raised will support families such as Zoe and Ken Chung and their two-year-old daughter Sophia, who have experienced firsthand the care and respite provided by Very Special Kids.

And the best part is, there's STILL time to register.

Shontelle spoke with the Sentinel-Times, explaining why she had committed to the 21.1km challenge, while Ms Chung shared how Very Special Kids’ care has supported her family through an extraordinarily difficult period.
