WHAT HAPPENS IN THE IONIZER? How water becomes an anti-oxidant?
So many different Hydrogens? PH, H, H+, OH-, H2, H2O? - confused?
the simplest way to explain it…
Water can be “ionized”: - when the molecule splits, the water turns into an ionic form.
How is it possible? H has one + proton and one – electron. Tends to ionize by losing an electron. The chemistry of life is in the rearrangements of H’s week bonds in water. Bonded to its own O, and neighboring oxygen molecules as well. UNIVERSAL SOLVENT.
H2O splits
H+ positively charged ion & OH- negatively charged ion,
(isolated proton) (Hydroxide)
Ionizers have a negative electrode, called Cathode charged electrically], and an anode positively charged. Basic chemistry! For ionization to happen a min. of 230 W and 2.5 A power is needed.
H+ ions will go to the cathode. OH- goes to the Anode. [ opposites attract.]
The cathode has a multitude of electrons. [ the meaning of negative charge] One electron will be donated to each H+ and each transforms immediately into a neutral atom [ no charge].
Neutral hydrogen H is so unstable that it won’t stay alone, but 2 pair up, and Hydrogen gas [H2] is formed. H + H = H2. [ Molecular Hydrogen or Hydrogen gas].
H2 stays neutral so, has no effect on the water’s pH, it’s an addition to ionized water, not part of the water molecule. Ionizers naturally raise the water's pH, which isn't a result of H2, but because H+ is consumed. Less H+ in the water and more OH- means more alkaline. pH is a measure of possible hydrogen. This refers to the H+ [ pollution]. More H+ in the water or liquid, the more acidic it is.
When an electron donation happens, it’s called a “reduction”. A reduction took place at the cathode, so the water is reduced. This water has a negative redox potential. This means that it has a large number of electrons ready to be donated. Because of this, ERW [ AKA Kangen Water™] is a very potent anti-oxidant. Major structural change in the water- not chemical! [nothing added] Energy is stored in the cathodic water!
Electrolytes, good natural minerals are also abundant in the cathodic water because these elements have a positive ionic charge [ Na, K, Ca, Mg, Iron,] they also go to the Cathode. These minerals turn the water into a great conductor of electricity. Without minerals [ RO water] no ionizer can make Kangen Water™.
We are drinking the therapeutic water, from the cathode, divided by a membrane in the ionizer, and the anodic [ acidic water] goes down the drain. ERW has a naturally high pH, loaded with Hydrogen gas, a high negative charge, therefore a high ORP, meaning that it is capable to donate electrons.
ORP [ oxidation-reduction potential] – the water's potential to reduce oxidation is another way of measuring pH. The two according to Dr. J.Tennant mean the same thing expressed in two different ways. This is why chemically made alkaline water doesn’t work.
We believe that water treated by electrolysis to increase the reduction potential is the best solution to prevent health problems, providing a safe source of electrons to block oxidation. We were meant to drink this living water, and the majority stopped doing that, mostly because of the broken structure and compromised water quality. Water only works, if it’s functional. ERW is the most functional water there is right now. Its negative charge is 4 times higher than the negative charge of the HUNZA water. Taken internally ERW with its redox potential blocks the interaction of active oxygen with normal cells. The biological molecule remains intact or undamaged!
ORP- looks to be the most important characteristic of functional water.
