Craig recently reached out to us to showcase his 1966 VC Valiant Regal; which has been given a full nut-and-bolt restoration, while staying true to its vintage roots.
The car is largely original, with the exception of a discreetly hidden Bluetooth unit for music (though the original AM radio still works perfectly) and a front disc brake conversion with custom wheels. Craig has kept all the original parts, preserving its authenticity.
Under the bonnet sits the legendary Slant Six - affectionately known as the “leaning tower of power.” Inside, it seats six comfortably (with no seatbelts, of course) and features more ashtrays than you’d ever need. The suspension has been slightly lowered for a cleaner stance, without taking away from its classic charm.
Craig purchased the car in December 2016 from an older Italian gentleman for $4,000. By January 2017, it was painted, reassembled, and back on the road. While much of the hard work had already been done by the previous owner, Craig focused on the finer details and brought the build to completion.
These days, the Valiant is Craig’s go-to weekend cruiser - perfect for family drives with the kids and their dachshund, Boris, riding along for the journey.
