It has already been more than 50 days since russia unleashed the invasion of Ukraine after months of massing troops near its borders. The military action, ordered by russian president vladimir putin on February 24, amounted to a full-scale war.

On the eve, putin addressed russians in a televised speech, saying a "special military operation" is underway in Ukraine. He said the goal was not to occupy the country but "demilitarize" it. The New York Times https://www.nytimes.com/live/2022/02/24/world/russia-ukraine-putin

The next day, Ukrainians woke up because of explosions and air-raid sirens heard in many cities including the capital, Kyiv. A lot of people left their homes immediately and during the next few weeks. Voice of America - VOA https://www.voanews.com/a/latest-developments-in-ukraine-feb-24/6456721.html

According to recent data of the IOM - UN Migration, about 6,5 million people were internally displaced and more than 4 million became refugees who were hospitably welcomed in a number of countries in Europe and worldwide https://www.iom.int/news/almost-65-million-people-internally-displaced-ukraine-iom)

Leaders of many countries immediately condemned the russian invasion of Ukraine.

President of the USA Joe Biden held a virtual meeting with G7 leaders and pledged that putin’s decision to invade Ukraine would cost russia “dearly, economically and strategically”. “When the history of this era is written, putin’s choice to make a totally unjustifiable war on Ukraine will have left russia weaker and the rest of the world stronger,” he said The White House https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2022/02/24/remarks-by-president-biden-on-russias-unprovoked-and-unjustified-attack-on-ukraine/

The UK prime minister Boris Johnson said at the House of Commons that the UK and its allies would respond with “a massive package of sanctions” that will “hobble the russian economy” The Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/feb/24/boris-johnson-promises-massive-sanctions-to-hobble-russian-economy

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's first comment on Ukraine was "We find the military operation unacceptable and reject it." Atlantic Council https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/turkeysource/experts-react-what-does-the-russia-ukraine-conflict-mean-for-turkey/

Thus, on March 2, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution demanding that russia immediately stop and withdraw its military activity on the territory of another independent state. 141 member-countries voted in favor of the decision European External Action Service - EEAS https://www.eeas.europa.eu/eeas/un-general-assembly-demands-russian-federation-withdraw-all-military-forces-territory-ukraine_en

However, in the civilized world of the 21st century there remain states that backed russian federation in its decision. Belarus, North Korea, Syria, and Eritrea supported the policy of aggression and war. Moreover, the number of states abstained because threatened by russia or dependent on it financially, economically, etc.
The historic events are taking place these days uncovering the real face of the world scene actors and clearly dividing them into those supporting peace, democracy, development and those stuck in corruption, terrorrism, and total neglection of freedom.

On April 7, the UN General Assembly voted for suspension of russia from the UN Human Rights Council. China, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Vietnam were among 24 countries that voted against this decision which was anyway taken by the majority of states. The resolution received two-thirds of votes https://news.un.org/en/story/2022/04/1115782

In more than 50 days of unbelievable striving of the Ukrainian people to defend its Motherland, russia’s constant attacks have left millions homeless and displaced. Moreover, civilian infrastructure has been badly damaged and destroyed.

Russian soldiers torture men, r**e women, and kill children. The photos of the russian military atrocities in the cities of Mariupol, Bucha, Borodyanka have horrified the world Amnesty International https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2022/04/ukraine-apparent-war-crimes-by-russian-forces-in-bucha-must-be-investigated/. It is difficult to imagine how much the world still does not know as russians hide their crimes in every possible way even by burning the bodies of their victims Al Jazeera English https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/4/6/mariupol-mayor-accuses-russia-of-atrocities

There are no customs and traditions of war for russians. There are no principles and morality at all.

Despite all the attacks, threats and dangers of this devastating war, Ukraine is fighting. Ukrainian people have unified as always in the face of the enemy. Everyone from the child to the elderly helps. People struggle at the military, economic, information, and humanitarian fronts.

The democracies of the world are firmly and constantly standing with Ukraine providing it with military, humanitarian, financial support, hosting and employing the Ukrainians.

Ukraine is the shield of the world’s future.

Ukraine will stand!

Ukraine will win!
