In folk medicine, horsetail is used as a diuretic, hemostatic agent, and it is also used for rheumatism, atherosclerosis, heart disease, gout, liver disease, bronchitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, in the presence of sand and stones in the urinary tract, with gallstones, hypertension, pulmonary bleeding. Horsetail is also used to treat wounds, boils, lichen, eczema and other skin diseases.
