Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence in Multimedia: A Vision for the Future
With over two decades of experience in the multimedia industry, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of storytelling through various mediums. My journey has not only equipped me with extensive knowledge and skills in multimedia but has also allowed me to contribute meaningfully to my community, particularly through initiatives centered around the Sinhala language and culture in Melbourne.
As the founder and 1st Academic Secretary of the Victorian Sinhalese Language School of Werribee, I have been dedicated to fostering an environment where cultural education thrives. This institution serves as a cornerstone for the Sinhalese community, providing a platform for younger generations to embrace their heritage while also honing their language skills. My commitment to education extends beyond traditional classroom settings; it is reflected in my work as a director and producer of various multimedia projects that celebrate Sinhalese culture.
Notable Achievements in Film and Broadcasting
One of my proudest achievements has been the founding of Sumedha Home Video Production House in Melbourne. This venture not only allowed me to direct, edit, and screenplay two Sinhala telemovies, but it also provided a space for creative expression within the community. My work includes capturing weddings and other significant events, ensuring that each moment is beautifully preserved. Furthermore, my experience in radio has been equally rewarding. I have directed and produced two radio dramas for 3ZZZ and SBS Radio channels, collaborating with VCE students at the Roxburgh Park VSL Centre. These productions served as practical learning experiences for students, combining education with the power of performance. I also directed stage dramas and school concerts for the St Albans Sinhalese Language School, which allowed students to showcase their talents while learning the importance of teamwork and collaboration.

While my journey has been rich with personal and professional accomplishments, I firmly believe that collaboration is key to achieving excellence. In addition to my multimedia expertise, I possess strong technical knowledge in upgrading, maintaining, and repairing computers. This skill set enhances my ability to deliver high-quality work efficiently, whether in video production, radio broadcasting, or event coverage.
