HOW MY DESIGNS ARE CREATED

At BlankSlate Co, I don’t just grab an image and put it on a product. A lot of the artwork you see is developed from the ground up using a combination of digital art and 3D techniques.

Maya – used to develop and build my 3D designs.

Poser – used for rigging, posing, texturing and rendering my 3D artwork.

Photoshop – where the finishing touches happen, including editing, compositing, painting, sketching, pixel painting and all those little details I like to fuss over until I’m happy with the final result.

Some designs are completely created and painted in Photoshop, while others are a combination of 3D and digital artwork.

AI?

I don't use AI to create my artwork as standard. My designs are created using my own digital art process and skills.

AI may occasionally be used when a customer specifically requests a cartoon-style or AI-assisted design.

So when you see one of my designs, there's usually a fair bit more behind it than meets the eye.

Designed by me. Created with my own skills. Made into something you can enjoy.

NEW AT BLANKSLATE CO

I’ve designed these new wolf and tiger mugs and I’m loving how they’ve turned out.

And remember, all of my designs can be customised with a name or personal touch, making them perfect for yourself or as a unique gift for someone special.

I’ll have these new designs with me at the Wynyard Indoor Market tomorrow and Saturday, from 10am to 3pm.

Every design in this collection has been created in-house. Some were 3D modelled from the ground up with custom textures, rigging and rendering, while others started as original hand sketches before being digitally illustrated in Photoshop.
