It’s International Dog Day and we’re paying tribute to our canine best buds 🌟 Here’s Lola 😍 she’s a Border Collie x Kelpie who loves running, when she isn’t snuggling with her favourite humans of course. We’d love to see your doggo family members too, so share a photo with a line or two about why you love them, and we’ll feature them in our weekly newsletter YOUR INDIGO 🙌💕

In the meantime, here are some tips to help ensure you’re being the best pet parent you can be:

👌Make sure your dog is registered, micro-chipped and vaccinated
🏠Ensure your dog is securely confined to your property. This means your yard must have a closed gate and an escape-proof fence
🐕Always keep your dog on a leash when out and about
💩And don’t forget to pick up after them if they go to the loo, nobody likes walking in dog poo 🤢

AVCLP Scholarship Opportunity – Growing Local Leadership in Yack
Are you passionate about making a positive impact in our vibrant community? YCDCo is delighted to confirm that we are supporting a scholarship for a local, community minded individual to undertake the 2024 Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Annual Program (AVCLP) on a fully funded scholarship.
For more than 20 years, AVCLP has fostered the development of a vibrant network of over 500 Alumni across Northeast Victoria, our Border regions and beyond. There are a number of locals who have undertaken the program, and gone on to do some pretty amazing things.
The program has a proud reputation of developing existing and emerging leaders through a unique experiential “learning by doing” approach. Participants develop personal leadership skills, knowledge of the region and a broad network of professional and community contacts.
The 2024 program will run from May to November, and will be 14 full days, including a study tour to Melbourne, and two overnight retreats, a launch event and final celebration, in addition to several online skills sessions. The program will be intentional in its place-based approach, and will continue to visit each LGA in our region to learn more about the unique opportunities and challenges.
The scholarship will help ensure we can uplift an emerging or established leader within Yack, to help pave the way forward for our community from within. Don’t delay – applications for the program close Sunday 10th March. Further information including the application form can be found on the AVCLP website:

The weather doesn’t look too flash for YCDCo’s Picnic BBQ in Isaac’s Park tomorrow, but the event will plough on regardless ! If it’s just too wet to be outside then we have the Public Hall as backup, but we are borrowing marquees if it’s just looking like showers.

The event organisers will make a call in the morning and there will be posts on the Yack Community FB page. If in doubt, do a quick drive past! See you tomorrow!
