We’re feeling pretty proud this week, Spotswood Summer Sessions 2026 is featured in Maribyrnong & Hobsons Bay Star Weekly (17 December 2025)!

From live music and dj’s to laid-back summer vibes, these sessions are all about locals coming together and celebrating our community - made possible thanks to grant support from Hobsons Bay City Council and West Gate Tunnel Project.

A huge thank you to Star Weekly for sharing the story, and to our incredible committee for the passion, time and heart you pour into making Spotswood shine.

A massive congratulations to our dear friend Tammy Haider Music on the release of her second solo album, Castrati Meow.

Partly recorded at the legendary Sing Sing Studios by Matt Voigt (think CAT POWER’s iconic Moonpix), as well as Dragon Peace Lodge, the album unites Stuart Prentice, Marcel Borrack, Amanda Kerr and Andrew Papadopoulos in full creative collaboration, bringing Tammy’s deeply felt vision beautifully to life.

Having had the unbelievable joy of watching Tammy perform - both solo and with her road-worn outfit royalchord - across three continents and two decades, we count ourselves lucky to have her now based in regional Victoria. Here’s hoping for many more shows from this extraordinary underground talent.

This long weekend, do yourself a favour: carve out a quiet moment, press play on Castrati Meow, and let Tammy remind you that life truly can be beautiful.

A little bit about the gorgeous new logo over at Love Shack Studios.

Follow along for all the studio progress ⚡️

You might have spotted our new logo making a cheeky appearance ahead of the studio reopening and wondered where it came from…

The genius behind it is the incredible Steph Hughes – illustrator, musician and printmaker extraordinaire. Steph’s creative journey started with gig posters for her own bands and mates, and has since grown into a huge body of work with some of Melbourne’s most loved institutions: Triple R, Arts Centre Melbourne, Melbourne Museum, ABC, Golden Plains Festival, Oxfam, Reclink Community Cup… not to mention editorial illustrations, logos, maps, murals and iconic designs for Milk Records and countless local bands (including her own, the recently reunited Dick Diver).

Fun fact: our logo actually started out as artwork for Jess’ band Tender Buttons. But when it came time to give Love Shack Studios its look, we all agreed it was the perfect fit – playful, bold, cosy and electrified… just like us!

Huge thanks to Steph for creating a design that feels so at home here in the Shack. We couldn’t be prouder to show it off.
