Tuesday, December 2, jl. has the Governor of Aruba, His Excellency Alfonso Boekhoudt, madam mr. M.A. Brinkenberg sworn in as a substitute judge in the Common Court of Justice, with a seat in Aruba.
The swearing-in took place at Cas Ceremonial di Gobernador, in the presence of, among other things, the Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector, dhr. mr. Geoffrey Wever and the vice president of the Common Court of Justice, mw. mr. Jane Jansen.

The Common Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and van Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba takes care of the law in the first instance and in higher appeal on the islands. The Court in the first instalment of Aruba is located in Aruba and the hearings take place there as well. The members of the Common Court of Justice deal, both in first instance and in the higher profession, civil matters, criminal cases and administrative matters (including tax cases).
