🇦🇲 Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said he assumed responsibility for what he described as difficult political decisions aimed at preventing continued violence in the country.

Speaking in remarks carried by local outlets, Pashinyan said his government had sought to steer Armenia away from what he characterised as a trajectory of repeated bloodshed and instability, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

He stated that he accepted the political cost of those decisions, including criticism and accusations, arguing that they were necessary to change the country’s course.

“We were being dragged to the gallows… I took on this responsibility… and I led Armenia off the road leading to the gallows,” he was quoted as saying.

He also referred to the memory of conflict-related losses, saying these had shaped his resolve and understanding of the decisions taken.
