Open daily from morning till evening, the market exclusively features eco-friendly, locally-produced goods—ranging from fruits and vegetables to traditional pithas and handmade crafts—offering visitors a taste of the region’s natural and cultural richness.

They created a very thin special material made of five layers that can absorb and emit heat differently depending on the direction. The US dollar surged by up to Tk1.8 on Monday after Bangladesh Bank (BB) made a historic move—purchasing $171 million from banks through its first-ever dollar auction at Tk121.50. This strategic intervention aimed to stabilise the market after a sharp Tk3 drop last week. Following the move, commercial banks raised their remittance dollar buying rates from Tk119 to as high as Tk120.80. Although no auction took place Monday, the effects were immediate, with dollar selling rates nearing Tk122. BB clarified that auctions will be held only when needed, without a fixed daily limit. While supply is strong due to healthy remittance inflows and export proceeds, weak demand from low import LC openings and minimal investment continues to keep the market cautious.

The Government of Bangladesh has formally recognised esports as an official sport, marking a significant step toward integrating competitive video gaming into the country’s mainstream sports ecosystem. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Youth and Sports on July 13, 2025, under the National Sports Council Act, 2018.

Asif Mahmud, Adviser for Youth and Sports, confirmed the news on social media, stating that esports now enjoys full recognition and will be included in national sports planning, funding, and institutional support. This move aligns Bangladesh with a global trend that sees esports as a legitimate and growing discipline in the world of sports.
