After you left, when I finally understood
that there was no way to bring you back,
I felt unbearably alone.
I tried in every way to keep myself busy.
I thought if I drowned myself in work,
maybe forgetting you would become easier.
I wanted to leave everything behind
and start living all over again.
But at the end of every day,
I lost.
Whenever it hit me
that I would never have you by my side again,
that I would never talk to you anymore,
my chest would ache with an unbearable emptiness.
Now there are thousands of miles between us.
I don’t even have the strength
to cross that distance just once to see you.
And at that very moment,
my tears refuse to be held back.
Forgetting you was never easy.
I couldn’t do it.
Yet I hold no resentment in my heart.
I only wish that you stay well—
so well that while living happily,
you never think of me at all.
May my absence never make you feel lonely,
not even for a moment.
In this new life of yours,
may you stay so joyful
that my memories never find a chance
to return to your mind.
I will spend my entire life
holding on to the memories you gave me.

তোমার আমার বিচ্ছেদ হয়েছে তার মানে এই না যে, তুমি আমার শত্রু! তোমাকে ভালো রাখার জন্য তোমাকে ভালোবেসেছি! আমি চাই তুমি ভালো থাকো। ভালোবাসি বলেই তোমায় পেতে হবে এমন কোনো কথা নেই! তুমি না হয় ভালো থেকো অন্যের ভালোবাসায়. আর আমি ভালো থাকবো তোমার ভালো থাকায়।

হারিয়ে ফেলার ভয় আমাকে দেখিয়ে লাভ নেই, যে একবার হারানোর শোক কাটিয়ে উঠতে পারে, পৃথিবীর কোনো দুঃখই তাকে আর ছুতে পারে না।
