BBC’s new Lord of the Flies (2026) adaptation premiered today in the UK.

Written by Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials) and directed by Marc Munden (Help), this four-part series returns to William Golding’s novel about a group of schoolboys stranded on an island after a crash, where order quickly starts to fracture as fear, power struggles, and violence take hold.

In the UK, it aired on BBC One with streaming on BBC iPlayer. A US release date hasn’t been announced yet, but hopefully we'll see it popping up somewhere very soon.

Netflix officially renewed the hit crime drama Dept. Q for a second season in August 2025 after the series spent six weeks in Netflix’s Global Top Ten. Its debut captivated audiences with intense mystery, complex characters, and gripping storytelling, solidifying its place as one of the streaming platform’s standout thrillers.

Season 2 is expected to premiere in mid-2026, with production returning to Edinburgh, Scotland, maintaining the series’ signature “Tartan Noir” atmosphere. Matthew Goode will reprise his role as DCI Carl Mþrck, joined by the original core team including Alexej Manvelov, Leah Byrne, Jamie Sives, and Kelly Macdonald. The new season adapts Jussi Adler-Olsen’s second novel, The Absent One, featuring an elite boarding school, a double murder, and the dark secrets of powerful institutional figures.
