Election should be conducted as soon as possible.
On August 5, the civilians of Bangladesh witnessed a new political shift and expected that long-lasting political and economic stabilization was going to be achieved. The interim government showed some positive initiatives initially. But the support they deserve from the political parties, working classes, government bureaucrats, and students is totally absent. Rather than assisting, all the stakeholders have consistently pressurized the Dr. Yunus government with equivocal comments from politicians, student movements, and workers' demands since it was formed on August 8, 2024, undermining the will of millions of Bangladeshis who dream of a new and equitable Bangladesh.
At the end of the day, the country is hostage to greedy political parties. Opposition politicians, who were severely suppressed and detained by the preceding autocratic rulers, now interrupt and oppose all types of reform. As a matter of fact, our authority changes, but the system does not.
As the dominant party is pushing the interim government for an election regardless of the reforms, I would say the current government should conduct an election as soon as possible and leave the country to vulnerable and contemporary politics, because we don’t deserve a better ruler actually.
The current political, social, and economic situation is not very satisfactory. By agreeing with the politicians, an election could be an empirical solution to all types of unrest.
