📉 A small GTM mistake. A big problem.

Last month, a real client of mine came to me wondering why their potential leads were dropping.

They were running ads. They were getting traffic. But something was really wrong.

When I checked their Google Tag Manager setup, I found the problem within minutes:

➞ Their conversion event wasn’t working properly.

➞ A checkbox wasn’t checked. A trigger condition was off.

➞ That single mistake meant they weren’t tracking 60% of their form submissions.

➞ They thought their marketing was failing.

But in reality, they were getting leads – they just weren’t recording them properly.

I fixed it in 15 minutes.

I cleaned up the GTM container, checked the events, and made sure the data was coming to GA4 and Meta ads.

Last week, a client came to me frustrated. He was spending $1,500/month on ads — but his Events Manager showed 0 purchases.

Turns out: He had no Purchase event set up in GA4 or FB Pixel.

❌ No tracking = no learning = no optimized ads.
