Following widespread attention from a Jamuna Television report, Jalal Siddiquee, Joint General Secretary of the Chittagong University (CU) Chhatra Dal unit, has extended vital educational support to Sanjida, a sixth-grade student at Chanuwa Kaderia High School whose home and school supplies were ruined in the recent South Chattogram floods. On behalf of the university leader, Banshkhali Upazila Chhatra Dal executives visited the affected student to hand over brand-new textbooks, essential learning materials, and gift packages. Emphasizing the necessity for collective social responsibility during this humanitarian crisis, Jalal Siddiquee stated that as a student leader, this was a humble initiative to ensure a fellow student could continue her studies despite the heavy infrastructural damage caused by the severe floods in the region.

On 2nd Death Anniversary Of CU's First July Uprising Martyr Hridoy Chandra Tarua, CUCSU AGS Ayobur Rahman Tawfick Planted A Krishnachura Tree Sapling To Pay Tribute To Him.

CUCSU AGS Ayobur Rahman Tawfick planted a Krishnachura tree sapling on Thursday (July 23), to pay tribute to Hridoy Chandra Tarua, Chittagong University's (CU) first martyr of the July uprising, on his 2nd death anniversary.

The sapling was planted at the entrance of the "Shahid Hridoy Tarua Bhaban," a building named after the martyr. Organizers said the red color of the Krishnachura flower was chosen to symbolize the color of the martyr's blood.

Through this gesture, organizers said they aim to keep the memory of Hridoy Chandra Tarua's sacrifice alive for years to come.

Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Al-Forkan unveiled new research grants and stipends for teachers and students while inaugurating the first phase of the university's "Nazrul Year" celebration on Wednesday.

The incentives include grants up to Tk 35 lakh for research projects and monthly stipends for MPhil, PhD, and thesis-based students. Al-Forkan also addressed the university's international ranking shortfall, announcing a new "Ranking and IP Cell" and urging teachers to boost research activity and student engagement in clubs and co-curricular programs.

Chittagong University held a day-long seminar and Nazrul music program on Wednesday to mark the 127th birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, part of the government's year-long "Nazrul Year" celebration.

At the event, Nazrul researcher Professor Muhammad Nurul Amin presented a paper titled "National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in Patriotism, Universal Humanity, and Mass Awakening." He said it would not be an exaggeration to call Kazi Nazrul Islam one of the brightest figures in world literature for his distinctiveness. Amin said Nazrul transformed his own poverty-stricken, struggle-filled life experience into extraordinary humanistic expression through his creative work, driven by unwavering faith in the Creator, deep patriotism, humanism, a sense of universal humanity, and an indomitable revolutionary spirit โ€” qualities that made him rise in rebellion against injustice and subjugation.

Chittagong University student Sabbir Hasan Sakin staged a brief protest at the security office on Tuesday after being hit by a CNG auto-rickshaw near the campus library, demanding registration, discipline, speed control, and mandatory drug tests for all campus vehicle drivers.
