Even if the RSO isn't prioritizing its own people and territory, it's still admirable that they're safeguarding the Bangladeshi military. We sincerely thank them for that.

"Rohingya Muslims never oppressed Hindus; they always treated us well and gave us a place in their hearts.

Our livelihoods depended on them, and they never treated us differently because we were Hindus. We lived together and will continue to live together. But we were oppressed by the Burmese government,” said a Hindu who became a refugee alongside Rohingya Muslims in 2017.

This woman says, "O Allah! There is a person near my home named Toki. When my sister stood up for Isha prayer, this man forcibly took her. Brothers in the camp! Please find my sister and bring her back to me."

She is the daughter of Iqbal, who previously lived in Balukhali 1, Camp 9. Her sister was forcibly taken by Taufiq, the gun commander of the ARA group, which is known as the "YY Yaba group".

The Bangladesh government must ensure the protection and safety of innocent Rohingya refugees, particularly from armed groups involved in crimes and violence. Strengthening security measures,

preventing crimes and violence, and providing a safe and peaceful environment for Rohingya refugees is crucial. At the same time, the international community must also pay attention to this issue to ensure the rights and protection of the Rohingya refugees.

Fortify Rights Accused of Backing Arakan Army to Fuel Violence in Arakan (Rohang/Rakhine)

March 24, 2025
—————————

Arakan, Myanmar Human rights organization is facing serious accusations of collaborating with the Arakan Army (AA), a Buddhist terrorists group widely known for committing brutal attacks against Rohingya and other minority communities in Arakan/Rakhine. According to a recent post by the ARSA Freedom Soldiers on their "X", Fortify Rights has reportedly collaborates with the AA in a campaign against the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), with the goal of preventing the release of ARSA’s detained leader, Abu Ammar Jununi.

ARSA Freedom Soldiers claim the AA sees ARSA and its leader as an "existential threat" and is fully financing Fortify Rights’ so called campaign to damage ARSA's credibility and strength. The post also hinted at the involvement of , in this covert operation, though this has not been confirmed.

The ARSA Freedom Soldiers issued a strong condemnation of Fortify Rights, stating:
"Fortify Rights’ collaboration with the Arakan Army (AA) blatantly exposes it as an organization intent on inciting communal violence; both among Muslims and between Muslims and Buddhists. By effectively endorsing the Buddhist extremist terrorists group AA, which recently massacred thousands of Rohingya and some of the Mro and Mogs communities who deny their movement, r***d hundreds of women, forcibly displaced tens of thousands, burned down Rohingyas' homes, and detained thousands of Rohingya and that of some Mro youths, Fortify Rights has revealed its true agenda and total disregard for the very human rights it claims to defend."

These allegations paint a disturbing picture of Fortify Rights’ supposed neutrality, suggesting the group is actively supporting a militant organization accused of mass killings, sexual violence, and the displacement of tens of thousands of innocent civilians.

The AA, long seen as a hostile force toward the Rohingya and other ethnic groups in Arakan, has been accused by multiple sources of recent massacres, house burnings, and the abduction of Rohingya and Mro youths. Fortify Rights’ alleged partnership with such a group has sparked outrage and concern among communities already reeling from violence.

Neither Fortify Rights nor the has issued an official response to these allegations. However, if true, the implications could severely damage Fortify Rights’ reputation and credibility in Myanmar and beyond, raising questions about the true motives behind its human rights campaigns.

This developing situation highlights the complex and volatile dynamics in Arakan/Rakhine, where alliances and enmities shift rapidly, often at the expense of civilian lives.
