Important Notice ⚠️
Extension of LPG Refill Cycles in IOM Area of Responsibility (AoR):
Key Messages for the Rohingya Community
Why is this happening?
Across the world, humanitarian organizations currently face major funding shortages. Operations in Bangladesh supporting Rohingya refugees are also affected. IOM has only received a small part of the funds needed for the year ahead. Although resources are limited, the priority is to ensure that every family continues to receive LPG support. This means LPG distribution must be immediately adjusted to ensure assistance for everyone as long as possible.
What is changing?
Starting now, the time between LPG refills will increase for all families in IOM ADR camps. Exact distribution dates will be visible in your LPG cards after visiting LPG sites during distribution. Mobilizations with tokens/tickets will continue as per usual practice.
When will this start?
The revised refill cycle will begin from September 2025 onward. Only the frequency of distribution is changing you will still receive LPG, but at longer intervals.
Which locations are included?
This is for all households in the following 17 10M-supported camps: 8E, BW, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 20 Extension, 22, 24, 25. The remaining 16 UNHCR-supported camps have their own schedules, and you will be informed there directly in case of any changes.
Who will this affect?
This will apply to all families in the listed IOM AOR camps to ensure fairness and equal support.
How long will this change last?
This will continue until further notice. We understands that this change is difficult for everyone, especially children, women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Humanitarian agencies are working hard to raise more funds for LPG assistance and to complete the distribution of pressure cookers for remaining households. If the situation improves, these decisions will be reviewed and updated.
What is the new LPG refill cycle?
All LPG refill cycles are based on family size. You may also view the distribution cycles by visiting any Feedback and information Center (FIC) Desk or LPG Help Desk:
