Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Today, on 7 June 2025/1446, with hearts full of both hope and sorrow, we the Myint Hlut Students’ Association extend our heartfelt Eid ul-Adha greetings to all our Muslim brothers and sisters around the world.
Eid ul-Adha is a day of sacrifice and remembrance. It reminds us of the story of Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihis Salam), who was willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of Allah. For us, the Rohingya people who have lost our homeland, our homes, our rights, and our dreams this day carries a deeper and more painful meaning. We know the reality of sacrifice, not just through the Qurbani, but through the suffering we endure every day. We have given up much not by choice but by force.
We live far from our land, without citizenship or freedom, in overcrowded camps, facing hardship every day. Yet, despite everything our faith remains strong. Even though our clothes are worn, our meals are simple and our shelters are made of bamboo and tarpaulin, our hearts are full of Iman. We smile on this day not because life is easy, but because we still stand firm with Allah by our side. We continue to believe in His mercy, and we continue to pray for a better tomorrow.
On this sacred occasion, we pray not only for ourselves but for all who are suffering those who are oppressed, displaced, or grieving. Especially, we remember our fellow Rohingya brothers and sisters across the world: those killed, those imprisoned, those who are missing, and those still struggling for survivals.
Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, please remember us in your sincere duas. We may be refugees, but we are also part of the global Muslim Ummah. We may be voiceless in this world, but we are not hopeless. With every Takbir we recite this Eid, we ask Allah to bring peace to the Ummah, to return us to our homeland with dignity, and to give our children a future with education, opportunity and justice.
From the depths of our hearts, in the silence of our humble refugee shelters, we say with love, hope and tears:
Eid Mubarak to you and your family.
Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum.
