এই বইটা থেকে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের খ ইউনিট ভর্তি পরীক্ষায় ইংরেজির MCQ অংশে প্রতি বছর ৪/৫ টা করে প্রশ্ন আসে। English For Today (HSC) বই থেকে ভর্তি পরীক্ষায় 24-25 সেশন পর্যন্ত যেসব ধরনের MCQ এসেছে :

আর ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রিটেনে সাধারণত ২০ মার্কের প্রায় পুরোটা English For Today বই থেকে আসে। রিটেনে গত বছর পর্যন্ত যেসব ধরনের প্রশ্ন এসেছে :

(i) Paragraph - প্রত্যেকবারই এসেছে
(ii) Sentence Making - ৬ বারের মধ্যে ৪ বার এসেছে
(iii) Fill In The Blanks - ৬ বারের মধ্যে ২ বার এসেছে
(iv) Explanation - ৬ বারের মধ্যে ৩ বার এসেছে

এগুলো প্রত্যেকটাই English For Today বই থেকে এসেছে।

সুতরাং ইংরেজিতে পাশ করতে বা ভালো করতে English For Today বইটা বুঝে পড়ার কোনো বিকল্প নাই। এই বইটি যেভাবে পড়তে হবে :

১. প্রথমত Passage/Poem এর বাংলা অনুবাদ এবং প্রতিটি Word এর অর্থ পড়তে হবে।

২. Exercise অংশে যেসব Word এবং Sentence দেওয়া আছে, সেগুলোর উপর PhD করতে হবে। কারণ, ঢাবিতে Exercise অংশ থেকে সরাসরি প্রশ্ন কমন আসে।

৩. Passage/Poem এর মধ্যকার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শব্দগুলোর Synonym-Antonym, Spelling এবং Sentence Making পড়তে হবে।

৪. Passage/Poem এর মধ্য থেকে Appropriate Preposition, Group Verb, Phrase-Idiom পড়তে হবে।

৫. প্রতিটি Passage/Poem এর Main Theme ভালোভাবে জানতে হবে। কারণ, মূল বিষয়বস্তু থেকেই Paragraph আসে।

৬. Passage/Poem এর গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বা গভীর অর্থপূর্ণ বাক্যগুলোর Explanation পড়তে হবে।

English For Today বইটা বিশ্লেষণমূলকভাবে পড়ার জন্য Text Panacea/Text Hacks/যেকোনো একটা ভালো বই নিতে পারেন। আর Textual এবং বিগত সালের ভোকাবুলারি টেকনিকের মাধ্যমে সহজে মনে রাখার জন্য Unlocking Vocabulary বইটা পড়বেন।

Retired Providence Municipal Court Chief Judge Frank Caprio has passed away at the age of 88 following his battle with cancer.

Caprio was known for his viral clips on social media.

On Tuesday, Caprio posted a social media video talking about his health setback.

Judge Frank Caprio: "Last year I asked you to pray for me, and it's very obvious that you did, because I came through a very difficult period. Unfortunately, I've had a setback and I'm back in the hospital now. And I'm coming to you again asking you to remember me in your prayers once more. So I ask you again, if it's not too much, that you can remember me in your prayers. I'm a great believer in the power of prayers. I think the Almighty above is looking over us. So remember me, please."

It takes a long time to learn a foreign language well. Learning English is not so difficult as you think.
Success as a fluent and impressive English speaker demands great application.

You have to get rid of your hesitation that people may ridicule me if I make mistakes while speaking. It doesn’t matter making mistakes when speaking a foreign language.

Try as much as possible to master necessary vocabulary and have some understanding/knowledge of grammar for making sentences for speaking exactly what you want to say. Speak, speak and speak without any hesitation of making howlers.

The more you make mistakes, the more you will be careful to correct your mistakes. And you will make hardly any mistakes after a certain period of carefulness.

Remember the more you learn the more you gather confidence; the more you learn correctly, the more you earn definitely. Wish you good luck.
