মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় পাকিস্তান সেনাবাহিনীর সাথে মিলিত হয়ে গণহত্যা চালানো যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের উত্তরসূরিরা আজ অবৈধ সরকারের সান্নিধ্যে রয়েছে। মুক্তিযুদ্ধে গৌরবময় ভূমিকা রাখা বয়োজ্যেষ্ঠদের শারীরিকভাবে আক্রমণ করা হচ্ছে, ‘জয় বাংলা’ স্লোগানকে অপরাধ হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয়েছে, মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনাকে বহনকারী প্রতীকগুলো বিনা বাধায় ধ্বংস করা হচ্ছে। মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা রাষ্ট্রীয় সম্মান থেকে বঞ্চিত হচ্ছেন এবং আমাদের শ্রেষ্ঠ সন্তানদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদনেও বাধা দেওয়া হচ্ছে। পাকিস্তান এখনো ইতিহাসের অন্যতম নৃশংস গণহত্যার জন্য ক্ষমা চাইতে অনীহা প্রকাশ করে চলেছে, অথচ এই অবৈধ সরকার দেশের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের রক্তাক্ত অধ্যায়কে মুছে ফেলতে দেশকে পাকিস্তানের নিকটবর্তী করে তোলার চেষ্টা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে।
স্বাধীনতা, পতাকা, সার্বভৌমত্ব এবং মাতৃভাষার জন্য লড়াই করা দলকে ধ্বংস করতে পরিকল্পিত সহিংসতা চালানো হচ্ছে।
তবে গত পাঁচ দশকে যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের সহযোগীরা রাষ্ট্রক্ষমতা দখল করে একই ধরনের ষড়যন্ত্র করেছিল। কিন্তু এই দেশের জনগণ সব ভেদাভেদ ভুলে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হয়ে এই অপশক্তিকে পরাজিত করেছিল।
এ বিজয় দিবসে আমাদের আহ্বান হলো – সব বিভেদ ভুলে, ঐক্যবদ্ধ হয়ে স্বাধীনতার মূল চেতনা ধ্বংসের সুপরিকল্পিত প্রচেষ্টার বিরুদ্ধে রুখে দাঁড়াতে হবে।

Successors of war criminals who sided with Pakistan army in carrying out genocide to prevent the birth of the country are now embraced by the unelected regime. Senior citizens are physically attacked for playing glorious role in liberation war, chanting Joy Bangla slogan has been criminalised, symbols projecting legacies of liberation war destroyed with impunity, war heroes are denied of state honour and people are barred from offering tributes to our bravest and brightest minds.
Despite reluctance from Pakistan to even tender apology for committing one of the worst genocides , the unelected regime has drawing the country closer and a glaring effort has been employed to erase blood soaked struggle for independence from public domain.
Targeted violence has been inflicted to decimate the party that led the fight for freedom , flag , sovereignty and language.
But in last five decades similar schemes to undermine the acwere plotted as accomplices of war criminals usurped state power but people of this country rose above differences and defeated these forces.
In this victory day, our appeal is to set aside differences and stand united against organized efforts to dismantle the core credentials of our freedom earned over ocean of blood.
