প্রখ্যাত অভিনেতা আহমেদ রুবেল বুধবার সন্ধ্যায় মারা গেছেন বলে গণমাধ্যমকে নিশ্চিত করেছেন পরিচালক নুরুল আলম আতিক। তার বয়স ছিল 55

তবে তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে তার মৃত্যুর কারণ জানা যায়নি।

আজ সন্ধ্যায় ঢাকার একটি মাল্টিপ্লেক্সে ছিল নুরুল আলম আতিকের নতুন ছবি ‘পেয়ারা সুবাস’-এর বিশেষ প্রদর্শনী। আহমেদ রুবেল সিনেমাটিতে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেছেন এবং অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নিয়েছেন।

আহমেদ রুবেল ছিলেন একজন বাংলাদেশী থিয়েটার, চলচ্চিত্র এবং টেলিভিশন অভিনেতা। সেলিম আল দীনের থিয়েটার গ্রুপ "ঢাকা থিয়েটার" থেকে তিনি তার কর্মজীবন শুরু করেন।

তারপর, তিনি বাণিজ্যিক বাংলা চলচ্চিত্রে অভিনয় করতে চলে যান। তিনি আখেরি হামলা মুভিতে তার ক্যারিয়ার শুরু করেন এবং তার পরবর্তী মুভিতে নেতিবাচক চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেন।

তিনি আবার থিয়েটারে ফিরে আসেন বনোপাংশুল নামে একটি নাট্য নাটকে কাজ করার জন্য।

এই সময়ে তিনি পরিচালক আতিকুল হক চৌধুরীর টেলিভিশন নাটকে চলে আসেন।

তবে গিয়াসউদ্দিন সেলিমের স্বপ্নযাত্রার মাধ্যমে তার প্রথম টেলিভিশনে উপস্থিতি।

এরপর তিনি হুমায়ূন আহমেদের ঈদ নাটক পোকাতে ঘোরা মজিদ চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেন।

একুশে টেলিভিশনের ধারাবাহিক প্রেত-এ লাইমলাইটে আসেন তিনি। প্রিট মুহম্মদ জাফর ইকবালের একই নামের উপন্যাস অবলম্বনে নির্মিত এবং আহির আলম পরিচালিত।

তিনি মোস্তফা সরয়ার ফারুকী এবং অন্যান্যদের সাথে টেলিভিশনে কাজ চালিয়ে যান।

হুমায়ূন আহমেদের বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযুদ্ধভিত্তিক চলচ্চিত্র শ্যামল ছায়াতেও কাজ করেছেন রুবেল।
