My Sleep, I Am of Death
My sleep
I belong to death,
bound by a wondrous mystery,
a beautiful enigma
between existence and eternity.
How exquisitely beautiful
this earthly world is
the endless road,
the enchanting beauty of the journey,
the changing colors of the sky,
and the silent poetry of time.
I am a weary traveler,
carrying the pain of every mile
loneliness,
deception,
the cruel game of a broken heart.
So many arrangements,
so much suffering,
so many silent performances
played upon the stage of life.
Man is born with a longing
to become a bird,
to spread his wings
and speak with the endless sky,
to fly beyond every boundary
and lose himself in the blue.
But I
I am merely searching
for the one I love.
I have come so far,
through so many nights,
through so many endless days
of waiting.
Yet still,
she never comes within my reach.
She simply disappears
somewhere beyond the horizon,
leaving behind
the longing to see her once again.
And in these two eyes
there remains,
still burning,
an immeasurable desire
the desire
to behold her.
Perhaps this is what life is:
an endless journey,
a beautiful illusion,
a thousand unanswered questions,
and one beloved soul
we continue to search for
until the very end.
So I keep walking
a lonely traveler
beneath the vast and silent sky,
following the invisible footprints
of someone
my heart has never stopped seeking.
