In the wake of recent devastating floods, community resilience and swift humanitarian action have brought critical support to the hardest-hit regions. As the official media partner for the initiative, we are proud to report the successful conclusion of Project Chattala: Beyond the Flood, a targeted relief operation that has directly supported over 300 individuals on their path to recovery.

Driven by the generosity of local donors, the campaign successfully raised BDT 77,762. However, the true success of the project lay in its strategic ex*****on.

Noting that floodwaters had significantly receded by the time of deployment, organizers made a crucial operational pivot. Rather than distributing temporary dry foods, the team focused on long-term recovery by engineering the "Chattala Hope Package"—a comprehensive bundle of essential daily rations and medical supplies.

ElevateX and Science Spark have officially launched the "National SciVerse Carnival 2.0," a nationwide online competition designed to foster innovation, knowledge, and creativity among students. Scheduled to take place on August 21 and 22, 2026, the digital event welcomes participants ranging from Class 3 up to the university level.

The carnival features a broad lineup of academic and creative challenges to suit different interests. All Olympiads will be conducted securely online via Google Forms in a multiple-choice (MCQ) format. Meanwhile, creative submissions will be showcased in the Science Spark Community Facebook Group.

Instead of addressing the logistical nightmares and safety concerns of examinees trying to reach their centers during a natural disaster, Milon reportedly used the mocking phrase to dismiss their struggles—implying the students were overly fragile and unable to face hardships.

The derogatory remark has triggered widespread outrage across social media platforms. Students, parents, and netizens are strongly condemning the minister for his apparent lack of empathy regarding the mental and physical toll the adverse weather has taken on examinees. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit China from June 23 to 26 on his first official trip abroad.
Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance have said that Dhaka will seek around 6 billion US dollars in financing from China for several infrastructure and development projects.

In addition, it is expected that Bangladesh may announce its participation in China's "Global Development Initiative (GDI)" during the visit. The GDI is China's main development framework linked with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A Foreign Ministry official told The Daily Star, "The main objective of this visit of the Prime Minister will be to attract Chinese investment."
