Growing up in Dhaka, TBC has always held a special place as the absolute OG spot for sushi and makis back when options were very limited, so when I was almost forgetting about their existence, I saw a brand new recently opened in Uttara while visiting my grandparents. So visiting to that place felt like a wonderful trip down memory lane.

The new branch boasts a gorgeous, large ambiance that makes dining out an absolute treat. We ordered a spread to share with friends, kicking things off with the Crab Rangoon (499 BDT), which was wonderfully crispy, cheesy, and utterly addictive. For sushi, we grabbed the Deluxe Maki Platter (1,599 BDT), and every single maki was outstanding—proof that TBC continues to deliver unbeatable quality and value that is totally worth every penny.

For mains, my friend ordered the Fire Blossom Ramen (579 BDT); while she thoroughly enjoyed the bowl, we felt the broth leaned a bit more toward a curry flavor profile and could have used an extra kick of heat. To wash it all down, the Mint Lemonade (219 BDT) delivered a super crisp, refreshing tang that tied the whole meal together. We wrapped up with the Mango Sticky Rice (429 BDT), which was a dream, amazingly fresh and subtly sweet without ever becoming overpowering.

If you are looking for a fantastic new spot to check out in Uttara with an amazing atmosphere and stellar food, TBC’s latest branch is a must-visit.

Oh man, let me tell you about the absolute sensory masterpiece that is Di Muzio Ristorante. My wife had been dreaming about going here for a full year; ever since she first moved here and spotted the place across the road one night, she desperately wanted us to have a date night there, craving that gorgeous evening candlelight ambiance. For one reason or another, we just couldn't manage to plan it back then. But a few days ago, when we suddenly had some free time right around 5:00 PM, we figured we had to finally give it a try—otherwise, who knows when we'd ever make it happen! And it turned out to be the most absolute, perfect date night.

The moment we walked through those doors at 5:00 PM on Victoria Street, we weren't just entering a restaurant—we were stepping straight into Italy. Uplifting Italian melodies filled the air, instantly setting a vibe so infectious and joyful we felt like getting up and dancing. But it was the aroma that truly knocked us out. Before we even looked at a menu, the air was thick with the most intoxicating, buttery, soul-warming scent. It was like culinary magic, and honestly, we were practically salivating and eating the meal with our noses long before the plates ever hit the table.

As the kitchen went to work, the symphony of smells evolved right before our senses. First came the sizzle of fresh prawns dancing in pure butter, filling the room with a rich, oceanic aroma. Then, a wave of fragrant, earthy sage drifted through the dining room. When our incredible server finally dropped off a warm basket of fresh, house-made focaccia alongside our mains, we were ready to devour everything in sight.

And the food? Absolute perfection. My Prawn Al Limone ($34) was a masterpiece—spaghetti completely coated in a vibrant, weightless emulsion of butter, lemon zest, and sweet prawns with tiny bursts of flavor that made every single bite pop. Even though my wife is technically allergic to prawns, the aroma and taste were so overwhelmingly irresistible she couldn't stop herself from stealing three or four bites! Meanwhile, her custom butter-and-sage Gnocchi ($24) was nothing short of a revelation—pillowy little clouds of perfection that literally melted on the tongue.

Even though everything is made fresh from scratch using authentic Italian ingredients (which means a brief, happy little wait while they craft it), every second is entirely worth it. We thought we had zero room left, but when our server mentioned they had fresh Tiramisu ($16), we couldn't say no. It was like eating a sweet, espresso-kissed cloud with the most delicate, subtle sweetness to wrap up the night.

If you haven't experienced Di Muzio yet, you are genuinely missing out. The ambiance, the incredible couple-run authenticity, and the flavor explosions make it a sweeping 10/10 date night experience!

Seafood is basically my whole personality, and Fish & Co. has always been my absolute #1 go-to spot in Dhaka. So when I heard they just opened a new outlet in Gulshan 2 and dropped a brand new seasonal summer menu, I dragged my friends there immediately.

The new Gulshan 2 branch is stunning. It’s so bright, spacious, and airy with natural light pouring in, making the whole vibe.

We tried a bunch of things from their limited-time seasonal lineup, and here is the lowdown:

The Mango Avocado Salmon Salad was super refreshing, topped with fresh, bouncy, and chewy sashimi-grade salmon that tasted incredible.

For the main, I went with the Grilled Sea Bass with Creamy Cajun Sauce. The fish itself was grilled to absolute perfection, though the rice was a little too plain for my liking until I drowned it in that rich cajun cream sauce.

My friends were super skeptical about ordering mussels because of past bad disasters at other places, but I forced them to try Fish & Co.’s Mussels with Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce. Total plot twist—they were obsessed and literally eating them one after another. If you’re a first-timer with mussels, this is the holy grail.

To wash it all down, we grabbed the Mango Di Latte (which tasted like a thick, nostalgic homemade milkshake) and the Passion Tea, which was super crisp and refreshing.

The whole seasonal vibe screams summer, but since it’s a limited-time menu, it’s going away soon. If you love seafood, do yourself a favor, check out the new Gulshan 2 vibe, and go try it before it disappears.

So, my wife had been craving fish and chips for the longest time. Living up in Sahali (Pemberton terrace area), we haven't explored the North Shore food scene nearly enough, but after pulling up Google Maps, C-Lovers Fish and Chips on Sydney Avenue popped right up. Since she had an NGO appointment over that way, we decided to make a proper date-day out of it for lunch.

When we walked in around 2:00 PM, the place was pretty chill, and the moment we stepped through the door, this heavy, amazing smell of fresh seafood hit us. We sat down and saw their legendary deal: the $21.99 All-You-Can-Eat Fish & Chips (which comes with unlimited fries, po***ck and endless pop refills). Naturally, we both signed up for it.

The first plate came out hot with a generous pile of fries, about six or seven golden pieces of po***ck, and a big glass of pop. Paired with their stellar tartar sauce on the table, it completely hit the spot and cured her craving instantly. While my wife tapped out after one solid round because she gets full easily, I took full advantage of the deal and went for three refills! The service was super attentive—our server kept checking in to see if we wanted more food—and there was zero time pressure, so we just sat back, chatted, and took our time.

By the time we strolled out around 4:00–4:30 PM, the place was absolutely packed, proving just how much people around here love their seafood.

To top off the day, we decided to take the bus back downtown. Convinced the right bus was taking too long, I made the executive decision to hop on the next one that pulled up. Plot twist: it was completely the wrong bus, and we ended up taking a scenic, one-hour loop tour all around Brock! We just laughed the whole thing off because we had nowhere else to be.

Between the endless fish, great service, and our accidental bus tour, it was a solid 10/10 experience. We'll definitely be back!
