🇧🇩 নতুন অধ্যায়ের পথে বাংলাদেশ

বাংলাদেশের জনগণকে ১৩তম জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের জন্য আন্তরিক অভিনন্দন।

এছাড়াও, প্রাপ্ত বেসরকারি ফলাফল ও পর্যবেক্ষণ অনুযায়ী নির্বাচনে এগিয়ে থাকার প্রেক্ষিতে-
বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল (বিএনপি)-কে এই নির্বাচনে বেসরকারিভাবে বিজয় অর্জনের জন্য অভিনন্দন জানানো যায়।

তবে একই সঙ্গে এটিও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ যে—
চূড়ান্ত ও আনুষ্ঠানিক ফলাফল, আইনি প্রক্রিয়া এবং গণতান্ত্রিক স্বচ্ছতা সম্পূর্ণভাবে সম্পন্ন হওয়ার মাধ্যমেই-
এই বিজয় পূর্ণ বৈধতা ও জাতীয় গ্রহণযোগ্যতা পায়।

গণতন্ত্রের স্বার্থে শান্তিপূর্ণ ক্ষমতা প্রয়োগ, সংযম এবং সব পক্ষের অংশগ্রহণই ভবিষ্যতের পথে সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
এই পরিবর্তনকালীন সময়ে, অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক রাজনৈতিক অংশগ্রহণ এবং গণতান্ত্রিক ধারাবাহিকতা দীর্ঘমেয়াদি স্থিতিশীলতা ও বৈশ্বিক আস্থার জন্য অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

বাংলাদেশ শাসনের একাধিক ধাপ অতিক্রম করেছে—
🌍২০০৭ সালের আগে, বিএনপির শাসনামলে
🌍এরপর, আওয়ামী লীগের দীর্ঘ সময়কাল
🌍এবং ২০২৪ সালের আগস্টের পর, ছাত্র আন্দোলন ও উপদেষ্টাদের প্রভাবে গঠিত অন্তর্বর্তী ব্যবস্থায়

এই ভিন্ন ভিন্ন সময়কাল জুড়ে একটি কষ্টদায়ক সত্য বারবার সামনে এসেছে—
বিভিন্ন সময়ে, বিভিন্ন নেতৃত্ব ও উচ্চপর্যায়ের কর্মকর্তাদের মাধ্যমে জনগণের রাষ্ট্রীয় অর্থ হারিয়েছে।

এটি কোনো একক দলের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ নয়;
এটি একটি জাতীয় দুর্বলতা, যা জনগণ দশকের পর দশক ধরে বহন করে চলেছে।
------------
আজ জনগণ প্রতিশোধ চায় না।
👉 জনগণ চায় পুনরুদ্ধার, ন্যায়বিচার এবং সংস্কার।
------------
এই প্রেক্ষাপটে, অনেক নাগরিক আশা করেন যে জনাব তারেক রহমান বাস্তব নেতৃত্বের পরিচয় দেবেন—
শুধু অতীতের ভুল স্বীকার করেই নয়, বরং
👉 যে সময়েই হোক, যে পক্ষই দায়ী হোক—দুর্নীতির মাধ্যমে হারানো রাষ্ট্রীয় অর্থ জনগণের কাছে ফিরিয়ে আনার মাধ্যমে।
একই সঙ্গে, একটি পরিণত গণতন্ত্রের জন্য প্রয়োজন—
সব রাজনৈতিক শক্তিকে আবার আলোচনার টেবিলে ফিরিয়ে আনা।

একটি অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক ভবিষ্যৎ—
যেখানে আওয়ামী লীগও নিজেদের সংস্কার, পুনর্গঠন ও সংশোধনের মাধ্যমে গণতান্ত্রিক রাজনীতিতে ফিরে আসবে—
তা ছাড়া বিশ্বাসযোগ্য নির্বাচন ও দীর্ঘমেয়াদি জাতীয় ঐক্য সম্ভব নয়।

🔎 জনগণের প্রত্যাশা—খুব স্পষ্ট--

🔹 রাজনৈতিক দলের জন্য-
যদি কোনো এমপি বা দলীয় নেতা দুর্নীতিতে জড়িত হন—
➡️ দল থেকে বহিষ্কার
➡️ আইনের হাতে সোপর্দ
➡️ কোনো রকম ছাড় নয়, কোনো ব্যতিক্রম নয়
🔹 সরকারি কর্মচারীদের জন্য
যদি কোনো সরকারি কর্মকর্তা দুর্নীতিতে জড়িত হন—
➡️ চাকরি থেকে তাৎক্ষণিক বরখাস্ত
➡️ প্রচলিত আইনে শাস্তি
➡️ পদমর্যাদা নির্বিশেষে শূন্য সহনশীলতা
👉 এই দুটি নীতি সৎভাবে প্রয়োগ হলে, দুর্নীতি আর নিরাপদ বা স্বাভাবিক মনে হবে না।

সমানভাবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আরেকটি বিষয় হলো—
✔️ পূর্ববর্তী সরকারগুলোর যেসব উন্নয়নমূলক কাজ সত্যিকার অর্থে জনগণ ও দেশের জন্য ভালো ছিল, সেগুলো অব্যাহত রাখা।
সরকার বদলালেও উন্নয়ন থেমে যাওয়া উচিত নয়।

আমি জনাব তারেক রহমান এবং বাংলাদেশের ভবিষ্যৎ নিয়ে সংলাপে যুক্ত সব রাজনৈতিক অংশীজনকে অভিনন্দন জানাই।
কারণ, সব কণ্ঠস্বর শোনা হলে এবং প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো বিশ্বাসযোগ্য থাকলেই টেকসই গণতন্ত্র শক্তিশালী হয়।

মার্কিন দূতাবাস, ঢাকা-তে সাবেক Surveillance Detection Coordinator (SDC) হিসেবে কাজ করার অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে আমি দৃঢ়ভাবে বিশ্বাস করি—
শান্তিপূর্ণ প্রক্রিয়া, সংযম, জবাবদিহিতা এবং অন্তর্ভুক্তি—এই চারটি স্তম্ভই বাংলাদেশের গণতান্ত্রিক যাত্রা ও আন্তর্জাতিক অংশীদারিত্বের সবচেয়ে শক্ত ভিত্তি।

এটি বিজয়ের উল্লাসের সময় নয়।
👉 এটি দায়িত্ব, সংস্কার এবং পুনর্মিলনের সময়।

Additionally, based on unofficial results and observations,
congratulations may be extended to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for being unofficially declared ahead in this election.

At the same time, it remains essential that
final legitimacy and national acceptance come through formal results, due legal process, and full democratic transparency.
For democracy to endure, restraint, peaceful conduct, and inclusive engagement by all stakeholders are paramount.
At this critical moment of transition, inclusive political participation and democratic continuity remain essential for long-term stability and global confidence.

Bangladesh has passed through multiple phases of governance—
🌍Before 2007, during BNP’s time in power
🌍Then under the Awami League
🌍And after August 2024, under interim arrangements shaped by student movements and advisers
---------------
Across these different periods, one painful truth has remained constant:
public money was lost through corruption by different leaders and high officials at different times.
This is not about blaming one party.
It is about correcting a national weakness that people have endured for decades.

Today, people are not asking for revenge.
👉 They are asking for recovery, justice, and reform.
---------------
In this context, many citizens hope that Mr. Tareque Rahman will demonstrate genuine leadership—
not only by acknowledging past mistakes, but by
👉 recovering state money lost to corruption, regardless of who committed it and when.
---------------
At the same time, a mature democracy requires bringing all political forces back to the table.
An inclusive future—where even the Awami League returns to democratic engagement through reform, renewal, and correction of past wrongdoings—is essential for credible elections and long-term national unity.

🔎 What people clearly expect from the new government
🔹 For Political Parties
If any MP or party leader is involved in corruption:
➡️ Immediate expulsion from the party
➡️ Handed over to the law
➡️ No protection, no exceptions
🔹 For Government Employees
If any government official is found corrupt:
➡️ Immediate dismissal from service
➡️ Punishment under existing laws
➡️ Zero tolerance, regardless of rank
👉 If these two principles are enforced honestly, corruption will no longer feel safe or normal.

Equally important:
✔️ All unfinished development projects from previous governments that genuinely benefited the country and its people must continue.
Development should not stop when governments change.
I also congratulate Mr. Tareque Rahman and all political stakeholders who continue to engage in dialogue for Bangladesh’s future.
Sustainable democracy is strengthened when all voices are heard and institutions remain credible.
