Meet Lynn and Andrea: two friends and Googlers on our sales teams. Coincidentally, the pair met during their study abroad trip in Lisbon. Two years later, they reconnected — this time, as Googlers in our Dublin office. Perhaps unsurprisingly, they’re now big fans of the buddy system. “Embrace the Buddy system,” they shared. “Your buddy can be a lifeline as you navigate a new city and company culture.”

The pair also shared advice for anyone who needs help finding their buddy. “Build connections with people around you,” they advised. “No matter where your passions or interests lie, chances are there is someone like-minded. Your colleagues can turn into life-long friends, so get on those coffee chats!”

Their final piece of advice? “Don't be afraid to ask questions. Everyone starts somewhere, and most people are happy to help. Collect your questions and don’t be afraid to ask your buddy or another colleague!”
