"How to Improve Your Game" – by the GOAT TenZ
1. Crosshair Placement is Everything
・Keep your crosshair at head level so you only need to adjust horizontally when an enemy appears.
・Clear angles methodically—don’t let your crosshair wander.
2. Prioritize Aim Consistency Over Flicks
・Focus on smooth tracking and micro-corrections instead of flashy flick shots.
・Warm up with aim trainers like Kovaak’s or Aim Lab for 15–30 minutes before matches.
3. Recoil & Burst Control
・Learn the spray patterns of key weapons, especially the Vandal and Phantom.
・Use short bursts or controlled sprays instead of spraying uncontrollably.
4. Movement Discipline
・Master counter-strafing: tap the opposite movement key to stop instantly and shoot accurately.
・Avoid unnecessary jumps or crouches—every movement affects your accuracy.
5. Utility Over Fragging
・Use abilities to create space, gather information, or delay pushes instead of chasing kills
・Communicate your utility usage so your team can play off it.
6. Game Sense & Map Control
・Track the enemy’s economy to predict when they’ll buy rifles or be on an eco round.
・Learn common rotation timings and lurk patterns. Use sound cues and past rounds to anticipate plays.
7. Mental Game
・Stay calm after losses and reset mentally each round.
・Confidence is key: Play to win, not to avoid losing.
8. Review Your Own Games (VODs)
・Rewatch matches to identify bad habits like wide swinging, poor crosshair placement, or slow rotations.
・Focus on one or two fixes per review to avoid overload.
9. Customize Settings for Comfort
・TenZ prefers low mouse sensitivity for precision (around 0.4–0.5 eDPI, but personal comfort matters most).
・Optimize graphics for maximum FPS and minimal distractions.
10. Team Communication & Positive Energy
・Use short, clear callouts like “two A Main” or “smokes B in 10.”
・Keep comms positive—negativity spreads quickly and lowers performance.
