On 6 November 2025 at Government House, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among 15 agencies for their cooperation in combating cyber scams.
During the signing ceremony, the Prime Minister was briefed on the measures and progress achieved by various agencies in their efforts to combat online fraud. He emphasized that the MOU is not merely a document but a strategic tool to enable a more systematic fight against cybercrime. Addressing the audience, he reaffirmed that combating cybercrime is part of the national agenda, and that all Thai organizations must join forces to address this challenge. The Government, he added, is ready to provide both financial and technological support to ensure effective implementation.
The MOU outlines five key areas of proactive action:
- Strict enforcement of the law, targeting both offenders and their supporters;
- Establishment of an integrated coordination system linking intelligence and investigative data;
- Immediate seizure and freezing of related assets, cutting off financial channels to prevent Thailand from being used as a base for money laundering;
- Utilization of advanced technology to detect suspicious money flows and fraudulent activities before incidents occur; and
- Building public resilience through awareness campaigns and encouragement of whistleblowing to engage citizens as active partners in the fight against cybercrime.
