Vatsala, the world’s oldest elephant, passed away at the remarkable age of 100 in Panna Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh. Affectionately known as “Dadi” (grandmother), she was brought from Kerala decades ago and became a beloved guardian of the forest. Over the years, she earned deep respect for her quiet strength, loyalty, and nurturing presence. More than just an elephant, Vatsala symbolized endurance and wisdom, playing a vital role in protecting the reserve and guiding younger generations. Her passing marks the end of a century-long legacy of dedication to wildlife and gentle leadership.

SAVE the koala FACT 29. In 2022 the extinction status of the koala was changed from vulnerable to ENDANGERED. This means that no matter all we are doing, koalas are facing and being lost to more human crises issues than ever. We are not giving up, we are never stopping. Koala Gardens is adamantly dedicated to working with other private landowners, community members, children, schools and government departments to turn this around and see koalas have the habitat they deserve as a sentient being that was here first. They own the country as much as any human being, they just have no voice!
