Ritu Porna Chakma, born on 30 December 2003 in Rangamati, is a talented footballer from the Chakma community who began her journey in 2012 during her school days. Her skills quickly gained attention, leading her to be selected for BKSP, where she flourished. She has played for top clubs like Bashundhara Kings Women and Nasrin Sporting Club, where she was among the top scorers.
Internationally, she has represented Bangladesh in U17, U19, and senior levels, playing a crucial role in SAFF Championship victories in 2022 and 2024. In the 2024 final, she scored the decisive goal against Nepal and was named MVP. Most recently, on 2 July 2025, she led Bangladesh to their first-ever qualification for the AFC Women's Asian Cup with a stunning brace against Myanmar.
Ritu also made her mark abroad, playing in Bhutan with Royal Thimphu College and Paro FC, where she impressed with her goal-scoring abilities. Despite facing personal losses, including the death of her father and brother, Ritu turned grief into strength, becoming a symbol of resilience and inspiration in Bangladeshi women's football.
