The Mighty Machapuchare! đŸ”ī¸

I still remember that evening in Sarangkot. The sky was clear and beautifully blue. We were hurrying back to the viewpoint before it got dark holding onto a little hope of catching one last glimpse of this mountain. Finally, we ended up right there and in front of us stood 'Machapuchare' also known as the legendary 'Fishtail' Mountain.

It’s one of Nepal’s most stunning peaks rising almost 7,000 meters high. What makes it even more special is that no one has ever reached its summit. Back in 1957, a British team tried to climb it but stopped just short of the top out of respect for the local belief that Machapuchare is the sacred home of 'Lord Shiva'. Since then, the mountain has been declared off-limits to climbers remaining pure and untouched.

Horseback Archery đŸ‡˛đŸ‡ŗ

Horseback archery is one of the oldest martial traditions of Mongolia. Riders combine speed and balance by shooting arrows to the target at full pace. It's rooted in the legacy of Chinggis Khan’s warriors. Horseback archery was once a skill of survival and battle but today it lives on as cultural heritage.

This year horseback archery championship in Nomadic World Cultural Festival brings together archers from over 20 countries. Many skilled came to compete in different tracks to show their horsemanship. By reviving this tradition on an international stage, Mongolian people celebrate their heritage sharing it with the world cultural enthusiasts.

Rhythm of 'KHADI'

Khadi is a traditional hand-spun and hand-woven fabric made from cotton, silk or wool. It has been valued for its natural texture and timeless appeal. In Bangladesh, it is more than a cloth, it represents simplicity in a word. For generations, artisans in Narayanganj, Cumilla and Tangail have carried this tradition forward. Their age-old spinning wheels and hand-looms reflecting patience and skill. Khadi is worn as attire and embraced as a symbol of identity and sustainable living. Yet today this heritage faces serious challenges. The spread of machine-made textiles and the dominance of fast fashion threaten its survival, making its preservation dependent on how we value its cultural significance and support the artisans who keep it alive in every thread.
