🚗 BANGLADESH'S FIRST VEHICLE-POOLING APP LAUNCHED BY BUET STUDENTS

Innovation is taking the driver's seat in Bangladesh. Three students from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have launched JyGo, the country's first vehicle-pooling platform designed to make commuting more affordable, efficient, and sustainable.

Built on a unique zero-commission model, JyGo connects commuters traveling in the same direction, allowing them to share rides and split transportation costs. According to the founders, users can save between 50% and 80% on travel expenses compared to conventional ride-sharing services.

Beyond cost savings, the platform aims to address one of Dhaka's biggest urban challenges—traffic congestion. By increasing vehicle occupancy and reducing the number of cars on the road, JyGo seeks to contribute to a smarter, greener, and more sustainable transportation ecosystem.

The United Nations has issued a global warning as El Niño conditions continue to develop across the Pacific Ocean, increasing the likelihood of extreme weather events in the months ahead.
