Nissan hasn’t had an easy run lately, but that isn’t stopping it from drawing a line between its electric future and its Formula E program—at least on paper. The company, which binned internal combustion engine development altogether last year, is now toying with the idea of using Formula E tech to power a new generation of Nismo-branded electric performance cars.

More Than a Car, It's Family: Ziyaad's Toyota Mark II GX71

While American saloons from the 1980s favoured large, powerful V8 engines, Japanese counterparts like the Mark II opted for more efficient six-cylinder motors. The Rising Sun’s approach to luxury incorporated smooth suspensions that managed both comfort and agility. However, Japanese automakers, including Toyota, drew stylistic inspiration from American cars, creating vehicles like the Mark II that combined American aesthetics with Japanese reliability and performance. The Toyota Mark II GX71 we are looking at today, restored by Ziyaad Rahman, stands as a testament to the unique blend of American style and Japanese engineering of that era.

While Polestar—the electrified offshoot of Volvo—logged an impressive 51 per cent sales jump this year, its parent company isn’t celebrating. July 2025 marked Volvo’s worst month of the year, with global sales falling 14 per cent year-over-year. That makes five straight months of decline, with July’s result being the steepest drop yet.

BSA Resurrects the Bantam—This Time Liquid-Cooled

The BSA Bantam name has returned, this time attached to a new 350cc retro-styled, entry-level commuter built with urban riders and beginners in mind. Don’t go looking for oil leaks or the smell of two-stroke in the morning—this one’s grown up, smoothed out, and gunning straight into the retro-styled urban runabout segment it once helped define.

Mercedes-Benz is heading into 2026 with 18 new vehicles in a bid to offset slumping sales and regain ground across its shrinking global customer base. After a 3 per cent decline in 2024 and a further 6.2 per cent drop in the first half of 2025, the company now plots to reset the lineup—aggressively.

Harley-Davidson has been trying to lure younger, first-time riders for decades. Problem is, the bikes it called “starter” models—like the Sportster—cost ten grand, weigh as much as a small car, and pack more torque than any novice asked for. That’s not exactly welcoming. Now the brand is preparing to release something it’s spent years pretending it didn’t need: a lightweight, affordable, genuinely entry-level motorcycle.

So, here’s the deal. Mitsubishi’s at it again, but this time with a bit more effort than slapping a badge on a Renault and calling it a day, like with the ASX. Nope, they actually tried this time with the Outlander Sport successor. First teased as the XFC concept back in 2022, it hit production in 2023, flirted with us at the Dhaka Motor Show, and now it’s finally here on Bangladeshi roads. Mitsubishi Motors Bangladesh Rangs Limited handed us the keys, so let’s dive in.

Honda is gearing up to put on a show at this year’s Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race, and it’s not just about lap times. On August 2, the brand will use the legendary circuit to spotlight its latest CB-series machines, including a world premiere that could hint at the future of its retro-modern naked bikes.

Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to unveil the facelifted version of its GLC electric SUV next month, and the most talked-about change isn’t under the bonnet—it’s the grille. In an era when automakers are busy slapping LED strips across every fascia, Mercedes has taken it a step further. Why settle for a light bar when you can turn the entire grille into a massive, animated light panel?

Norton Motorcycles is gearing up for a return, this time with India in its sights. The British marque, once a mainstay of classic motorcycling, has spent the last few years in hibernation after nearly collapsing—until TVS Motor Company swooped in and bought the brand in 2020. Now, five years later, the Chennai-based giant is ready to bring Norton back, and it’s picked a particularly opportune moment to do so.

Looking Back: BMW 218i Gran Coupé
🖊: Rahbar Al Haq 📷: Nafirul Haq

BMW’s switch from rear-wheel to front-wheel drive in the 1 Series left a lot of fans very upset. Critics thought it killed the sportiness of the small hatchback and for a fact, killed what made it unique. But the Bavarian automaker needed to tend to their bottom line, and front-wheel was cheaper to make and an easier sell, particularly to those who wanted a taste of the BMW lifestyle. This shift became even more apparent with the 2 Series Gran Coupé, a C-segment sedan aimed at the entry-level market. Now, while both versions received a lukewarm reaction from enthusiasts, the latter holds a special place in my heart, as it was the car that started my journey as an automotive Journalist.
