31 night in last year!
I was on the same rooftop I'm standing on now.
At 12 am of the new year, I witnessed something special. My eyes were jumping with joy by seeing a lot of fireworks, firecrackers, and Lanterns. I thought that these were making me happy that will last for a long time. Unfortunately, my happiness lasted only for 25 minutes.
After 25 minutes I got a phone call about a disaster. One of my relatives got heart-attack and it was severe. The doctor immediately referred him to the "National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases". As my relatives had no male person around him they called me to assist in getting admitted to the hospital.
I had to go to the hospital immediately. Once I reached the hospital, I witnessed a horrible scenario there. Huge numbers of emergency patients were coming to the hospital and most of them were dying.
I counted 5 death within 20 minutes.
It broke me down as I never experienced such horrible deaths in front of me before. A lot of relatives of the dead bodies are crying loudly. I was also crying inside.
Once I consulted with the doctor, then the doctor told me that the new year celebration with huge sounds and smoke from fireworks, firecrackers, and Fanushes makes things worse for the heart patient, especially for the old person and babies.
Then I realized, happiness never longs for a long time if we don't make it by proper purpose.
Every year we get a lot of news that fanushes make fires in so many places. As well as firecrackers frighten the infant and older.
These are very dangerous for wildlife and birds also. I have seen so many videos of birds fleeing for firecrackers.
it is most harmful in an over-populated place like Dhaka. Just think for a while there can be an old man or an infant in the next building where you are firing the firecrackers. it can be a cause of death for them.
So I would request all of you to avoid firecrackers and Fanushes for new year's eve. Even if you are to do these things, I would suggest you do it in remote places or in empty fields.
