🎮 Diogo Jota’s love for gaming ran deep. He wasn’t just a casual gamer.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, he rose to world No. 1 on FIFA 21’s Ultimate Team leaderboard, posting a flawless 30-0 record. A year earlier, he had won the ePremier League Invitational, defeating his future teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold in the final.

He once cut short a FIFA 22 qualifier to play a real game of football.

Jota spoke openly about how gaming helped him switch off from football and stay mentally sharp.

He even launched his own esports organisation in 2020 – Diogo Jota eSports, now known as Luna Galaxy – which has competed across FIFA, Dota 2, and Rocket League.

Whether on the pitch or with a controller, Jota left a legacy that will be remembered in both worlds.

এই পোস্ট তাদের জন্য, যারা পাসপোর্টে সিল পড়ার পরও দ্বিধায় ভোগে। যারা ভাবে, “আমি পারবো তো?”
যারা চোখে স্বপ্ন নিয়ে আসে, কিন্তু বাস্তবতা দেখে অনেকসময় হতাশ হয়ে পড়ে।

১. প্রথম কয়েকমাস – আপনি ভাঙবেন। নতুন ভাষা, নতুন পরিবেশ, একা থাকা—সব কিছুই কাঁধে ভর দেয়। রুমে ঢুকে ফোন হাতে নেবেন, আম্মুর নাম্বার দেখে চুপ করে বসে থাকবেন। কিন্তু এটাই শুরু, ভাঙাটাই গড়ার প্রথম ধাপ।

২. কেউ বলবে না, “তুমি পারবা”— তবুও আপনাকেই পারতে হবে। বিদেশে সবাই ব্যস্ত। কেউ এসে বলবে না “চলো, আমরা একসাথে চলি।”
আপনাকে নিজের ছায়া হয়ে নিজের পাশে দাঁড়াতে হবে।

৩. আপনি কাজ শিখবেন, কিন্তু তার চেয়েও বেশি শিখবেন বিনয়। হয়তো আপনি ছিলেন ক্লাসের ফার্স্ট বয়, কিন্তু এখানে প্রথম কাজ হয়তো বাথরুম পরিষ্কার। কিন্তু বিশ্বাস করুন, এই অভিজ্ঞতা আপনাকে অভিজাত করে তুলবে—মনের দিক থেকে।

৪. টাকার হিসাব আপনি ক্যালকুলেটর ছাড়াই মুখস্থ শিখে ফেলবেন। কারণ ১টা ভুল হিসাব মানে একদিন না খেয়ে থাকা। বাংলাদেশে হয়তো মাসে ৫০০ টাকা উড়ালেও মনে হতো না, এখানে ৫ ডলার হিসাব করেও দম বন্ধ লাগে।

৫. আপনি বুঝবেন— “ঘুম” আর “আলসেমি” আসলে বিলাসিতা। প্রথম কয়েকমাস এমন হবে— ঘুমিয়েছেন ৩ ঘণ্টা,
দুইটা কাজ করছেন, তারপরও মনে হবে, "আরেকটু চালাতে হবে নিজেকে।"

৬. আপনি সবচেয়ে বেশি কৃতজ্ঞ হবেন ছোট ছোট জিনিসের জন্য। এক কাপ হালকা গরম চা, একটা কল আসা দেশে থাকা কারো কাছ থেকে, রুমে কারো একটা হাসিমাখা কথা—
সবকিছু হিরার মতো দামী লাগবে।

৭. আপনি বদলাবেন, কিন্তু আপনার ভেতরের আগুনটা আরও জ্বলবে। কেউ হয়তো বলবে, "তুই অনেক চেঞ্জড!"
আপনি হাসবেন। কারণ আপনি জানেন, আপনার ভেতরের যুদ্ধগুলো কেউ জানে না।

এই প্রথম বছরটাই আসল। এই এক বছর যদি কাটিয়ে দিতে পারেন— আপনি শুধু প্রবাসী না, আপনি একজন বেঁচে থাকা যু*দ্ধা।
