Saudi Arabia issued brief emergency alerts on Tuesday warning of potential attacks in the holy city of Makkah and the nearby governorates of Jeddah and Taif, following a rapid escalation in strikes by Iran-backed Houthi forces.

The warnings, which marked the first such security alert issued in Makkah since the regional conflict began, were quickly stood down, according to the Saudi Civil Defense.

The brief alerts came just a day after a coordinated barrage of ballistic missiles and explosive-laden drones launched from Yemen struck the kingdom’s southern border region, injuring 13 people and highlighting the expanding geographic scope of the cross-border strikes.

Ukrainian rail authorities said passengers were evacuated about 15 minutes before the strike, and no casualties were reported. Ukraine’s railway operator said the diplomatic train may have been the intended target.

Iran’s President Challenges Trump to Face Military Directly, Condemns U.S. Sanctions

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has publicly challenged U.S. President Donald Trump to direct military confrontation rather than targeting Iranian civilians, infrastructure, and essential supplies.

In a sharp address, Pezeshkian criticized American strategy, calling on the U.S. leadership to "fight man to man" against Iran's armed forces if they intend to pursue conflict, rather than waging economic and logistical warfare that harms ordinary citizens.
