Islam was never meant to make you miserable.
The Prophet ﷺ used to smile often. ‘A’ishah (RA) narrated that she never saw him laughing excessively, but he would smile. He also allowed wholesome entertainment, and he reminded us that even our bodies have rights over us. (Sunnah)
So yes, you can enjoy your life.
You can laugh with your friends, eat your favorite food, travel, dress nicely, enjoy beautiful places, spend time with the people you love, have hobbies, and make memories. You can have a life outside of worship without feeling guilty for every moment you enjoy.
The dunya is temporary, but that doesn’t mean you have to hate every moment you spend in it.
Just keep Allah at the center. Pray your salah. Stay away from what is haram. Be grateful for what you’ve been given. And enjoy the halal blessings Allah has allowed you to experience.
You don’t have to choose between being close to Allah and being happy.
Sometimes, enjoying a blessing with a grateful heart is part of saying Alhamdulillah. 🤍
