🛺 The Banned vehicles of Bangladesh 🇧🇩

Once a familiar sight on the streets of Dhaka, the Baby Taxi was a small yellow-and-black, two-stroke auto-rickshaw that became an iconic part of everyday city life. Due to the severe air pollution caused by its two-stroke engine, the traditional Baby Taxi was phased out and banned in Dhaka on January 1, 2003, and was replaced by cleaner four-stroke CNG auto-rickshaws. Today, the Baby Taxi lives on as a nostalgic symbol of old Dhaka and Bangladesh’s transportation history.

|| Day of Shifa ||

Akheri Chahar Shomba has been observed at Azimpur Daira Sharif in Old Dhaka for over 225 years with great devotion and ceremony. Devotees gather there from morning until sunset. The tradition dates back to Shah Sufi Syed Mohammad Dayem (RA), who observed the day with great reverence. Later, Shah Sufi Syed Lakkitullah added new traditions, including giving silver rings to devotees as a symbol of physical well-being and blessings.
