Tragic Crash in Brazil Kills Four on Board
On Tuesday, September 24, 2025, in the late afternoon, a Cessna 175 (registration PT-BAN) crashed in the Barra Mansa farm area, Aquidauana, Pantanal, Brazil, killing all four people on board.
The privately owned aircraft, piloted by its owner Marcelo Pereira de Barros, was on a location-scouting flight for TV Globo’s soap opera “Pantanal”. Also on board were Chinese architect Kongjian Yu, filmmaker Luiz Ferraz, and director of photography Rubens Crispim Jr..
According to eyewitness reports, the Cessna attempted to land near the farm but initiated a go-around maneuver. During this maneuver, the aircraft reportedly banked hard before disappearing from sight. Emergency responders arrived at the remote crash site to find the wreckage destroyed by fire, with all occupants fatally injured. CENIPA investigators are expected to arrive to determine the cause of the accident.
